Let's cut to the chase. Eric is a bona fide thief. He swindled his father's Dinosaur Circus Carnival away from him while his father (Kent Hovind) was in prison for tax fraud. He also stole his ministry, his web sites, his social media pages, "intellectual" content, his tithes and donations, his tithers and donators, his house, and his land. After Kent got home from the big house he started charging rent and then evicted him without proper warning. The Oedipal drama can all be found on the youtubes. [CITATION NEEDED--GIVE US THE LINKS!] Get your popcorn, it happened. The Young and the Restless couldn't come up with this shit.
Other than that Eric is really a non entity when it comes to combatting the ever-rising tide of rational thought. He mostly avoids the stage on account of the few times he has shown up, he gets throat stomped and thrown in the corner like a rag doll. His opening question: "Could you be wrong about everything you know?" is a staple for atheist's lampooning.
His affection for and friendship with cretinous presupper Sye Ten Bruggencate could be material to the general psychosis and sociopathy that Eric conveys in the public sphere. The two were truly made for each other. Eric is Sye's pack-and-go twink, ready to gallivant to whatever venue is next and primed for throat-stomping.
With the perpetuities from dead tithers still flowing from his father's stolen ministry, Eric lives the good life, though he's still not above making pity videos asking for more money when he doesn't need it. It's just the natural thing for a boy to do when he realizes he is supposed to be a grown up by now, but also realizes he has no marketable skills or ability to contribute to society in any tangible way. The natural course of action is for him to hone his own technique of spiritual predation and hope that ole man Hovind can strike religious oil again, so he can steal that too.
