The Insomnia Shuffle is a series of casual late-night on-air hangouts run by 13Heathens. The first hangout officially titled as such was held in late January 2014, though several earlier hangouts and Skype calls have been retconned into the series. Shuffles ran on an irregular but frequent basis from 2014 through early 2016 (generally whenever 13 and/or other regulars were suffering from insomnia, as per the name) before going on an indefinite hiatus (only two live ones were held in 2017). During several periods in 2014, Shuffles were held almost every single night, along with occasional "primetime" Shuffles which ran during the afternoon or early evening. As of February 1tth, 2018, Insomnia Shuffles have returned and are being on the Shadow Heathen channel.

In addition to several "unwritten" rules (hehe), the one main rule of the Insomnia Shuffle was that conversation about typical "Great Debate" subjects (i.e. religion, theology, apologetics, creationism, and associated subjects) was generally off the table with exceptions granted only at the discretion of the host, but anything else (including gossip and shit-talking about members of the community, no matter what side they were on) was considered fair game. This gave people a chance to get to know each other and find out else they had in common outside of whatever religious issue they happened to agree or disagree on.

Shuffles currently also benefit from being hosted through 13's corporate Google account which provides the hangout with nifty features such as a 25 person capacity, being un-snipable (corporate hangouts have no external chat), requiring the permission of the host in order to enter, and being streamed via XSplit which, among other things, allows for the live-chat to be streamed and therefore preserved after the live stream ends.

The most complete existing playlist of Insomnia Shuffles is maintained by Kevin Buchik and can be found here, although some Shuffles are known to be missing and several others have incorrect dates.
